Properties
Mono Potassium Phosphate is a colorless tetragonal crystal or white crystalline powder. Relative density 2.338. Melting point 252.6℃. Soluble in water, solubility is 83.5g/100ml water at 90°C. Aqueous solution is acidic, PH of 1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution is 4.6. Insoluble in alcohol. It has deliquescence. When heated to 400℃, it melts into a transparent liquid and cures into an opaque glassy potassium metaphosphate after cooling.
Applications:
Mono potassium Phosphate is also widely used in the chemical industry. It can be used as raw material for manufacturing potassium metaphosphate and other potassium salts; culture agent for brewing yeast, fortifying agent, bulking agent and fermentation aid.
In the fermentation industry, it is used as bacterial culture agent, buffer regulator and nutrient, mainly for the production of monosodium glutamate, wine, alcohol, citric acid, enzyme preparation, yeast, starch and sugar, etc. Application of potassium dihydrogen phosphate in the pharmaceutical industry
