Sodium hexametaphosphate is an inorganic substance with molecular formula (NaPO3) 6. It is a white powder crystal, or a colorless transparent glass sheet or block solid. Soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents. It has strong hygroscopicity. When exposed to the air, it can gradually absorb water and form a viscose. It can form soluble complexes with calcium, magnesium and other metal ions. It is widely used in food and industrial fields.

Production:

Phosphorus pentoxide obtained by burning, oxidizing and cooling yellow phosphorus in dry air flow is mixed with soda ash in a certain proportion (Na2O: P2O5 = 1 ~ 1.1). The mixed powder is indirectly heated in a graphite crucible to dehydrate and fuse, and the resulting sodium hexametaphosphate melt is quenched, sliced and crushed to prepare the finished product of industrial sodium hexametaphosphate.

Storage method:

1. It shall be stored in a ventilated, dry, cool and clean warehouse, and the packaging shall be sealed and moisture-proof.
