Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate is an inorganic substance with molecular formula of K₄P₂O₇ and molecular weight of 330.33. It is white powder, soluble in water and insoluble in ethanol. 
The main use of Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate is to replace potassium cyanide for cyanide free electroplating. With the development of national industrial modernization, the demand forTetrapotassium Pyrophosphate is increasing day by day. In industry, it is also used for surface treatment, high-grade detergent, paint, detergent, dispersant, buffer, etc; In food industry, it is used as emulsifier, tissue modifier, chelating agent, quality improver, etc. 
 
 
Applications:
 
1. Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate (TKPP) is used as emulsifier, tissue modifier and chelating agent in food industry. It is also used as raw material of alkaline water for flour products. It is often used with other condensed phosphates to prevent guano stone from being produced in canned aquatic products and discoloration of canned fruits; Improve the expansion of ice cream, the yield of ham and sausage, and the water holding capacity of ground fish; Improve noodle taste and yield, prevent cheese aging, etc.
2. Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate (TKPP) is mainly used for cyanide free electroplating, instead of sodium cyanide as the complexing agent of electroplating. It is also used as pretreatment agent for electroplating and pyrophosphoric acid electroplating solution. Prepare detergent components for clothing materials, metal surface cleaner and bottle cleaner components, and additives of various cleaners. It is used as clay dispersant, dispersant and buffer of pigments and dyes in ceramic industry. Bleaching and dyeing industry is used to remove a small amount of ferric ions from water and improve bleaching and dyeing quality. Potassium pyrophosphate is also an excellent stabilizer for hydrogen peroxide.
