Properties

Diammonium phosphate is colorless transparent orthorhombic crystal. Relative density 1.803 (19 ℃), melting point 190 ℃. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in acetone. It is stable in air and decomposes a small part when heated to 100 ℃.

Diammonium phosphate fertilizer grade is mainly used as high concentration nitrogen and phosphorus compound fertilizer, and Diammonium phosphate industrial grade is used to impregnate wood and fabric to increase its durability; It can be used as dry powder fire extinguishing agent and phosphorus for fluorescent lamp; It is also used for printing plate making, manufacturing of electronic tubes, ceramics and enamel, and biochemical treatment of wastewater; Military industry is used as flame retardant for thermal insulation materials of rocket engine motors.

The production of Diammonium Phosphate by Hot Process of phosphoric acid 85% with liquid ammonia and neutralization, hot process is the best industrial production method at present. The product has high purity, full water solubility and low impurities.
