Properties
Potassium nitrate is a colorless transparent orthorhombic crystal or powder and particle, with a relative density of 2.109 and a melting point of 334 ℃. When heated to about 400 ℃, oxygen is liberated and transformed into potassium nitrite, which is further heated and decomposed into potassium oxide and nitrogen oxide. Soluble in water, liquid ammonia and glycerol; Insoluble in absolute ethanol and ether. It is not easy to deliquesce in the air and is an oxidant.

Potassium nitrate is widely used in agricultural market. Potassium nitrate belongs to binary compound fertilizer. It is chlorine free, potassium and nitrogen compound fertilizer.
