Properties

Diammonium phosphate is colorless transparent orthorhombic crystal. Relative density 1.803 (19 ℃), melting point 190 ℃. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in acetone. It is stable in air and decomposes a small part when heated to 100 ℃.

Diammonium phosphate is (NH4) 2HPO4 also known as diammonium hydrogen phosphate. It is easily soluble in water and the aqueous solution is alkaline. Diammonium phosphate is a high concentration of quick acting chemical fertilizer, which is suitable for all kinds of soil and crops. It has a more significant effect on crops that like nitrogen and need phosphorus. It is often used as base fertilizer and topdressing. Diammonium phosphate contains nitrogen and phosphorus, so it can be regarded as a compound fertilizer with high concentration. Therefore, when it is used as seed fertilizer, avoid direct contact with seeds.
Diammonium phosphate is suitable for various soils and crops. Diammonium phosphate contains two nutrient elements, nitrogen and phosphorus, which are necessary for crop growth.
